By this class, I had all the data that I needed to start working on visual representation. I had chosen to represent the data of yield/acre of all the ingredients required for making Chole. My earlier approach of representing the land required for the specified ingredient yielded numbers that were negligible.

The board with all the data

For representing the crops visually, I also collected their images so that I could bring out their characteristics through the visuals. However, many of the color schemes of the crops were similar. So, I had to also tap into the notion that people regarding an ingredient by using appropriate colors instead of representing the crops as it is.

The images of the crops

With all the things I had done till this point, I started working on choosing a direction for my visualization. I made rough visuals to get an idea of the layout. This crudeness also allowed me to look at the other ideas as I was not attached to a particular idea.

The rough sketches

I need to explore more ways of visualizing things and start refining my earlier idea. I should have a more refined version by the next class with more ideas standing in the line.
