Day 6 and 7 of Data Visualisation- Exploration of Visualisation
Last class, I made some rough doodles to get an idea of what sort of visual depiction I could use to showcase my data. The next step was to start working on illustrating them in a digital format.

All the visualizations were the first rough draft to get an idea. The above-depicted visualizations were approaches taken directly from many of the internets. These were mostly basic in nature.

The first image was a depiction is in essence a bar graph but the bars would be visually represented by the plants. This approach brought some problems as the numbers of the yield/acre for each crop were too big.
The second approach was artsier. The crops would be depicted as trees and the volume of trees would give an idea about yield/acre in a relative manner. This approach required visual distinction from each of the crops and a better composition with all the elements.

My last approach was a combination of using the ideas of circles to represent volume, depiction of characteristics of the crop, and step-by-step process of the food dish. The ingredients are relatively sized to depict their volume and a line travels through them to give an idea of the process. I made iterations upon this idea and will be taking this forward.
