Day 8 of Data Visualisation-Small Progress

Today, external came to assess and get an idea about our project. From last class, I had just worked on small things of my data visualisation.

So, I got top-view images of each ingredient for depiction. However, I stumbled upon a problem. The problem was that the size of the circles was supposed to represent yield/acre. Now, it could be misinterpreted as the quantity to be put in the food. This problem was also mentioned by the externals. So, I could either be more explicit or have things be interpreted in layers.

The other thing that was told to me was about the missing Indian element in the representation. As this is an Indian recipe, at that stage, I had no idea how to give the cultural representation through graphics. Adding it might distract the viewer from the data representation. I guess that is the challenge I have at this point.

So, I will be taking this further and working on the problems of this design.
